Spanish K2 expedition stays connected with Thuraya

A Spanish expedition climbing K2, the world’s second-highest mountain, used Thuraya satellite mobile phones to stay in touch with the world from the Karakoram.

It was an early demonstration of how Thuraya could keep expeditions connected in Pakistan’s most remote terrain.
